MIANWALI, Feb 27: Dr Sher Afgan Khan, former federal minister, has criticised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Patron Nawaz Sharif for including the Rokri group in his party. He was reacting at the inclusion of MNA Humair Hayat Rokri into the PML-N.

He says the PML-N chief had declared in Mianwali in 1993 the Rokris “turncoats and notorious opportunists”. He said at the public meeting Mr Sharif had promised with the public that he would never include the Rokris in his party at any cost.

Dr Afgan said the Rokris were relatives to PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi and in the last tenure Gul Hamid Rokri had been the revenue minister. He said that fearing their accountability from the likely PML-N government in the Punjab, the Rokri had joined the party to save their skin.

He added it seemed Mr Sharif had learnt nothing from his mistakes and his decision to accept the Rokris in the PML-N was a slap on the face of his diehard workers.
