KARACHI, Feb 27: Six ships scheduled to load/unload containers, rice, palm oil, wheat, diesel oil and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

In the meantime, five more ships carrying containers, crude oil, furnace oil and wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy improved to 70 per cent at the wharves where seven ships, Nedlloyed Asia, Maersk Georgia, Islamabad, Adriatic Wind, Al-Salam-II, Annoula and Blumanau, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, palm oil, wheat, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 105,000 tons comprising 80,000 tons of import and 17,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.Sailings were active as Germany, Maersk Davao, Maersk Georgia and Navios Hios left the port.
