Three cops jailed for negligence

LARKANA, Oct 6: An assistant sub-inspector of police along with two police constables have been put in police lock-up after a motorcycle robber escaped from their custody on Saturday.

The three policemen were taking four prisoners including the motorcycle robber, Mehar Ali Umrani, to a court in Shahdadkot when their van developed a fault near the Magsi village. Umrani taking advantage of the situation escaped even though he was handcuffed.

So the SHO, Khabar police station, M Ali Dhamraho, lodged an FIR against ASI Ghulam Farooque Brohi, Constable Barkat Ali, and Constable Siraj Ahmed on the charges of negligence of duty at the Bahram police station under section 222, 223, and 324 CrPC.

LOADSHEDDING: The superintendent engineer, operation circle, HESCO, Larkana, announced its loadshedding schedule, which would start on Oct 7 and last until Oct 29, due to regular maintenance of power grid stations.

The power shutdown at various grid stations will affect Larkana, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad districts along with the areas connected with the respective grid stations.

The loadshedding would continue for four hours everyday from 8am to 12pm, the announcement added.

FUND RELEASED: The Sindh government has released Rs4.7 million to meet the urgent needs of newly established offices of Nazims in 80 union councils of Larkana district. The DCO disclosed this here on Thursday.
