ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: The former ruling coalition won the most votes in Monday’s parliamentary election, according to the government-run Associated Press of Pakistan.
The PML-Q and two allied parties took 8,324,201 votes, the figures quoted by the news agency showed. But when combined with the 2,520,032 votes of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the alliance figure nudges past that of the PPP by 788,742, it said. The PPP took the most votes of any single party with 10,055,491. The PML-Nawaz won 6,240,343 votes.—APP
