SIALKOT, Feb 16: Punjab PML-Q President Pervaiz Elahi says Feb 18 will be the day of the PML-Q. Claiming the PML-Q will win the forthcoming elections on the basis of its performance, he appealed to the people to vote for the party to ensure continuity of the development process.

At a public meeting held at Zafarwal, Shakargarh, on Saturday, he said both the PPP and the PML-N were busy praising each other and trying to derail the democratic system in the country, but the PML-Q would not allow it.

Pervaiz Elahi said people would never allow PML-Q’s rival parties to come into power for the third time for plundering the national exchequer.

He said those talking about rigging in polls were actually afraid of the public decision and that no government could afford rigging.

FLAG MARCH: Army, Rang-ers and police on Saturday evening patrolled the sensitive declared areas of the district, including Sambrial, Daska and Pasrur, to ensure peace and maintain law and order ahead of the general election.

Sialkot DCO Atta Muhammad Khan said the troops in the district had been put on high alert.

He said security had been beefed up in three sensitive constituencies — NA-111, Bajwat, Sialkot-II, NA-112, Sambrial, Sialkot-III and NA-114, Pasrur, Sialkot-V, to avert any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, Sialkot District Returning Officer Suhaib Ahmad Roomi, DCO and DPO Muhammad Ameen visited the sensitive polling stations and reviewed the arrangements made for holding peaceful polling.
