LANDI KOTAL, Feb 13: An explosive device went off at the office of the medical superintendent of Agency Headquarters Hospital here on Wednesday.

The blast was the second of its type in less then two weeks time. At the time of explosion on Wednesday, Medical Superintendent Dr Zar Alam was out of his office.

Hospital sources said that the explosive device was placed under the chair of the medical superintendent which shattered the windowpanes of the office besides damaging record and furniture.

Political authorities took into their custody at least eight employees of the hospital for investigation.

No body has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.

A similar blast destroyed the administration block of the said hospital on February 4. Cause of both the blasts could not be immediately ascertained.
