TAXILA, Feb 10: Two brothers were killed and another was critically injured when their maternal uncle allegedly opened fire on them in the Tass village of Hassanabdal on Sunday.

Yousaf reported to the police that his brother Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammad Jan and Khalid were on way to Hassanabdal city on two motorcycles. When they reached the outskirts of the village, their maternal uncle, identified as Jan, along with his two accompanies allegedly opened fire on them and fled.

As a result, Mohammad Iqbal and Mohammad Jan died on the spot while Khalid was rushed to DHQ hospital Rawalpindi in a critical condition.

Talking to this correspondent, Yousaf, the elder brother of the victims, said the motif behind the killing was a petty dispute.

The Hassanabdal police registered a case against the accused and have started investigations. No arrest was, however, made till filing of this report.

The bodies were handed over to the relatives after autopsy at the THQ hospital Hassanabdal.
