SKARDU, Feb 10: Seven members of a family were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Kuroo village on Saturday night.

A portion of the house was under construction and the inmates were sleeping in an adjoining room.

The owner of the house, Mohammad Hassan, is a watchman with Descon construction company at the Sadpara dam project.

He found his house flattened and the whole family buried under the rubble when he returned home after night duty.

Villagers gathered after hearing his screams and recovered the bodies. The deceased were identified as Ahmed Hussain, Saleema Bibi, Rubina, Zarina, one-year-old Hania, Asif and Shehzad.
