HAFIZABAD, Feb 10: A bride-to-be and her sister were burnt alive hours before the marriage ceremony as their car caught fire in firing by bandits on way to a city marriage hall on Sunday afternoon.

Rejoicing turned into mourning as the family of Jhattanwali village lost two dear ones.

According to the father of the victims, Farzana Bibi and Rukhsana Bibi, Farzana’s marriage was to be solemnised at a hall in Hafizabad. She, along with her sister Rukhsana and Iftikhar, was on way to Hafizabad when two armed men tried to stop them but the driver accelerated.

The armed chasers immediately opened fire on the vehicle as a result of which its CNG cylinder exploded and caused fire which engulfed the vehicle. Both sisters were burnt alive while Iftikhar suffered burns.-—APP
