MURREE, Feb 8: Three persons were killed after being buried in a snowslide at Doonga Gali, (Nathiagali) in Galyat.

According to details, Sardar Azad, a resident of Kooza Gali, was heading to his village from Islamabad along with his daughter-in-law and a 10-year-old granddaughter. When they reached Toheedabad Nullah at 5pm on Thursday a huge snowslide occurred which buried them alive.

They had walked from Barrian as all roads were closed due to heavy snowfall which had been continuing for three days.

A villager, who was passing by, saw the incident and informed his fellow villagers. They rushed to the scene, and after struggling throughout the night managed to retrieve the bodies at 11am on Friday. According to information, 12 other persons have been missing in the area between Nathiagali and Kalabagh, and it is believed that they may have been buried in the snow.—Correspondent
