LAHORE, Feb 4: Three Pakistani pairs reached the quarter-finals of Al-Fajr International badminton tournament in Tehran, Iran.

Rizwan Azam and Attique, seeded second in the tournament, beat Basheri and Mohammed of Iran in straight sets 21-12, 21-12. They will play against the Iranian pair of Sikandir and Motaghi.

In the other pre-quarter-final Zeeshan Umer and Hashir of Pakistan defeated fourth seeded Al-Sayeed and Jaffar of Bahrain 21-18, 21-17.

They will next play against Nikzad and Alishah Hossenin of Iran.

Waqas and Kashif are the third doubles pair to reach the last-eight stage after beating Sina Bayat and Yara Pahlavan of Iran 21-12, 21-13.

They will take on Navan and Abdul Lateef, the third seeded Malaysians.
