GUJRAT, April 9: The federal and provincial higher authorities have approved a grant of Rs29 million for the construction of new school buildings and provision of necessities there, it is learnt on Tuesday.

Sources in the local education department said a number of new primary and elementary schools would be set up at a cost of Rs20 million to be provided by the federal government.

The provincial government would give Rs9 million for the maintenance of old school buildings and provision of furniture, sources said.

The primary schools would be provided furniture worth Rs50,000 while the middle schools worth Rs80,000, he concluded.

STABBED TO DEATH: A 10th class student, Kashif Rauf, was stabbed to death allegedly by one Amanullah over a minor issue in mohallah Tailian, Jalalpur Jattan on Monday.

Police have registered a case with no arrest so far.
