WANA, Jan 25: Two soldiers were killed and seven others wounded when militants attacked with rockets an outpost on a hill in Spinkai Raghzai area of South Waziristan on Friday.

Informed sources said the injured soldiers were taken to a military hospital. However, militants claimed that five troops had been killed in the attack.

ISPR sources said that a convoy of security forces going to Nawazkot from Razmak had been attacked with small arms. The troops retaliated with artillery and mortar fire. One security man was injured.

Meanwhile, the so-called Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Baitullah Mehsud has asked his followers to carry out attacks on security forces across the NWFP and tribal areas, our correspondent adds from Tank.

Baitullah’s spokesman Maulvi Umar said the militants’ commanders had decided to accelerate attacks against security forces across the tribal belt and the NWFP.

He said the militants had killed five security personnel in Friday’s clashes.
