QUETTA, Jan 25: Balochistan’s industrial town of Hub and its other parts plunged into darkness on Friday evening when two pylons were blown up, one in the Hub riverbed and the other in Barkhan.

According to police, high explosives had been planted under the pylon in the Hub riverbed. The explosives were set off in the evening, suspending power supply to the entire Lasbela district.

“Dozens of industrial units stopped production after the suspension of power supply to Hub town,” a senior police officer told Dawn on telephone. He said that work was also stopped at the Gadani shipbreaking yard.

Power supply was also suspended to many areas of Barkhan district after a pylon was blown up by high explosives.
