ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: Opposition Leader in the Senate and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stalwart Raza Rabbani on Wednesday wrote an open letter to party workers urging them to forge unity with the party leadership and among themselves during the present difficult time.

In his letter, the PPP leader asked the party workers to “practice the principle of collective leadership at all levels and strengthen the party organisation right to the grassroots level”.

Mr Rabbani directed party workers to keep the cadres mobilised through Quran Khwanis, seminars and the electoral process at all levels and identify with the issues of the people and maintain contact with the students, trade unions and masses.

“On December, 27, 2007, a part of each one of us died as the assassin’s bullet struck the chairperson.

The judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto resulted in only his physical elimination, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto is no different. Their philosophy, ideology, sacrifices and collective struggle of the party remains intact,” he wrote.
