HYDERABAD, Jan 21: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil directed the officials involved in construction of flyovers to complete their projects in time and provide alternate routes to people.

He was presiding a meeting held to review projects to be executed under the ‘megacity vision’ here on Monday. The DCO Hyderabad Aftab Khatri, Project Director Hyderabad Development Package Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah and other officials were present.

Flyovers were being built to ensure smooth flow of traffic under mega city vision in addition to mega development projects, he said adding that their construction would not only add to the beauty of city but would also ease the traffic pressure.

He directed officials to provide alternate routes to citizens during execution of projects. He was briefed about the projects by engineers. He said people of this city which faced neglect for years should be provided facilities soon.

TEST: Senior Vice President Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan criticised the decision of Higher Education Commission for making English language test compulsory for teachers before appointment and issuance of degree.

In a statement issued here on Monday he said the decision reflected rulers’ inclination to accept slavery.

He wondered when papers of English were part of examinations then why such condition had been made mandatory. He said when a student had passed this paper then it was not fair to test him in the same subject again.
