LAHORE, Jan 15: Three goals each by Kashif Jamal and the Indian national player Dhruvpal Godara helped National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) beat Guard Rice 7-3 in the Lahore Polo Cup here on Tuesday.

Scoring a field goal off a Samiullah pass in the beginning of the first chukker, Usman Haye put Guard Rice 1-0 ahead of their rivals but Godara and Hassan Ali Farukkh struck one after another as the bankers led the first chukker by 2-1.

Kashif was the hero of the second chukker, scoring back-to-back as the bankers got ahead by 4-1.

The third chukker saw the losing side score two as Taimur Ali Malik and Raja Samiullah struck one each. But Godara pumped in his second to help NBP maintain control with a 5-3 lead.

The fourth chukker tilted the match in the bankers’ favour as Godara and Kashif found the net to make the tally.

Earlier, three goals by Atif Tiwana and two by Mir Shoaib Ahmed and Shah Shamyl Alam each enabled Emaar to beat Subway 7- 3 1/2. Ahmed Zubair and Agha Murtaza Ali Khan shared the honours for the losing side, who had a 1 1/2 handicap.
