MUZAFFARGARH, Jan 14: A delegation of the European Union visited Muzaffargarh here on Monday and met PPP and PML-N candidates.

The delegation visited the district to review and know about the government’s arrangements for holding of free and fair elections on Feb 18.

The team held a meeting with PPP and PML-N candidates at the residence of PML-N hopeful for PP-254 Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar Junior.

Those who met the delegation are Malik Rabbani Khar, Irshad Sial, Qayyum Jatoi, Moazam Jatoi, Samad Bhatti, Rana Mahboob Akhtar and Ehsan Karim Qureshi.

Khar Junior told the delegation that the police were harassing their workers and supporters.

He said the police took action against PML-N workers and tried to implicate them in fake cases.

Jamshed Dasti, PPP candidates for NA-178, said police had implicated him and his family in murder cases at the behest of the PML-Q.

After the meeting, Hellie Molenaar, a delegate, told journalists that they would send this report to foreign countries.
