20 schools without headmasters

MULTAN, April 4: At least 20 high schools in various parts of the district have been functioning without headmasters for the last two years.

In tehsil Multan, the schools without headmasters are the Government High School, Shah Rukne Alam, Government Model High School, Gulgasht, and the Government Al-Husain Secondary School, Muzaffarabad.

In tehsil Shujaabad, the schools are the Government High School, Khakhi, Government High School, Sarayee, Government High School, Lasoori, Government High School, Obara Shumaal, Government High School, Hayaat Kan Wali, Government High School, Meera Mala, Government High School, 69/M, Government High School, Raja Bhutta, Government High School, Kotla Chakar, Government High School, Basti Bub, Government High School, Lar Ganoobi, Government High School, Jhanpur, Government High School, Hafizwala, Govern-ment High School, Alipur Saadat, Government High School, Ghazipur, Government High School, Inayatpur, and the Govern-ment High School, Jagguwala.

The district education officer (secondary) told this correspondent that whenever the post had been filled in the schools in far-flung areas, the headmasters got themselves transferred to Multan.

Teachers belonging to these localities should be appointed headmasters in the schools, he said, assuring the posts would soon be filled.—Nouman
