FAISALABAD, Jan 8: Three people, including a woman, were drowned when their car plunged into a canal near Wapda City in Madina Town police precincts on Tuesday.

Syed Mahmood Ali Jafri of Wapda City and his wife, Rashida Kausar, were returning to their home when driver Mohammad Sharif of Mansoorabad lost control over steering and the car landed in the Rakh Branch Canal near Gattwala Bridge on Sheikhupura Road. All the three died on the spot.

The Rescue 1122 and police teams rushed to the scene and retrieved the bodies and the car from the canal.
