Five Rangers die in accident

BAHAWALPUR, Jan 7: Five officials of the Desert Rangers were killed and about 40 injured when their truck overturned on Channan Pir-Yazman Road, about 40km from here, on Monday.

The truck carrying these officials to Cholistan overturned near Tailwala after the driver lost its control.

The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital, Bahawalpur. Twenty of the injured were said to be critical.

The Associated Press of Pakistan identified the five officials who died at the scene as Mahmood, Hafeez, Irfan, Iftikhar and Maqsood. No force official was available for comment.
