ISLAMABAD, Jan 4: The returning officer has terminated election proceedings for the NA-207 Larkana-cum-Shikarpur seat after the death of Benazir Bhutto who was a candidate.

According to Election Comm-ission secretary Kanwar Dilshad, proceedings for two provincial assembly seats in the NWFP have also been terminated because of the death of Alhaj Mohammad Ayaz Khan and Miangul Asfandyar Amir Zeb who were candidates from PF-59 Battagram-I and PF-81 Swat-II.

Mr Dilshad said public notices in this connection had been issued and a fresh schedule for the three constituencies would be announced ‘in due course of time’.

He said that the remaining candidates would not be required to file fresh nomination papers.—Reporter
