DADU, April 3: Six unidentified armed men barged into the house of Abdul Karim Qureshi, advocate, in Najam colony, Dadu town, on Tuesday night and looted Rs5,000 cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.
Three of the family members, Abdul Karim Qureshi, Zulfiqar Qureshi, and Khadim Qureshi, were injured with clubs and axes when they offered resistance.
Meanwhile, on the call of the president of the District Bar Association, Dadu, Mohammad Ramzan Khushik, the lawyers boycotted the courts and took out a protest rally from the district courts to the local press club against the incident.
Talking to newsmen, the secretary general of the District Bar Association, Fazal Hussain Jamali, said that if the police did not arrest the culprits within 12 hours, they would boycotted the courts throughout the district and stage demonstration.
NAIB NAZIM: The Naib Nazim of Dadu district, Sadaqat Ali Jatoi, has said that two multinational companies had provided jobs to the people of Kachho and other remote areas of the district on merit.
He said that the companies, BHP and Lasmo, had also carried out development works including roads, dispensaries, water supply schemes in the area.
Speaking at an open kutchehry at a local camp of the BHP at Johi on Wednesday, Mr Jatoi said that the multinational companies were facing security related problems as certain groups were agitating against these companies to blackmail them.
