KOHAT, April 3: The Kohat police on Wednesday arrested 18 outlaws, including five proclaimed offenders, who were allegedly planning to kidnap a businessman.
A stolen car was recovered and a huge quantity of arms was seized in separate operations, conducted in Gumbat and Lachi areas.
Five proclaimed offenders, who were allegedly working on a kidnapping plan, were remanded to police custody for interrogation by a special team, headed by ASP Saddar Nisar Khan Tanoli.
In an another operation, conducted in the Lachi town, 26km from here, three fugitives, wanted in heinous crimes, were rounded up. They were named as Haji Zikria, Mohammad Nasir and Mohammad Irfan.
Ten other criminals were arrested under the revised law for possession of illegal weapons. They were identified as Asmatullah, Noor Marjan, Haji Multan Khan, Ahmed Rafique, Ulas Khan, Awal Badshah, Mohammad Tariq, Raees Khan, Mohammad Waris Khan and Siraj Gul (all residents of Lachi).
