Published January 4, 2008

KOHAT, Jan 3: The district and sessions judge for Kohat, Akhundzada Shahjehan Khan, declared on Thursday the election of Ghani-ur-Rehman as the district nazim for Hangu as null and void.

The runner up in the district elections, Haji Afzal Khan, had challenged the matriculation certificate of Mr Rehman. The judge after conducting a trial for two years announced his judgment against the sitting nazim.

During the trial the record of the NWFP Board, Peshawar, was examined. Mr Rehman never took the matriculation exams.
