ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on PPP leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim here on Tuesday.

He offered condolences to the PPP leader over the death of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and discussed with him matters relating to the coming elections and proposals for their delay.

Senator Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, who accompanied the Maulana, said the JUI-F head told Makhdoom Amin Fahim that although there was no law and order problem in Balochistan and the NWFP provinces, the situation in Sindh and Punjab was not conducive to polls. He said Punjab was out of control and it would be difficult to continue election campaign in Sindh and Punjab.
