QUETTA, Jan 1: A man was killed and three security personnel and a civilian suffered serious injuries when landmine exploded in Chamalang and Bakhtairabad areas on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, rockets were fired on a security forces’ checkpoint in Kohlu district’s Kahan area and power supply was suspended in several areas of Hub after a pylon of a high-power transmission line was blown up.

Sources said that a truck loaded with coal was on its way to Loralai when it struck a landmine in Chamalang area, killing the driver and injuring another person. The wounded man was taken to the Civil Hospital in Loralai.

The second blast took place in Bakhtairabad area after a pickup of the Frontier Corps hit a landmine. Three FC soldiers suffered serious injuries.

Security personnel rushed to the place and moved the injured to a hospital in Sibi.
