Aravinda recalled for England

COLOMBO, April 2: Sri Lanka has recalled former captain Aravinda de Silva for the forthcoming three-Test series against England after missing the last 11 Test matches.

De Silva was included in a 15-member squad named Tuesday for the tour of England beginning later this month.

The last Test match played by de Silva was in March 2001 against England here. During his absence Sri Lanka played 11 Tests and won nine of them.

Squad: Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Marvan Atapattu, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, Russel Arnold, Hashan Tillekeratne, Thilan Samaraweera, Aravinda de Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Charitha B. Fernando, Dilhara Fernando, Nuwan Zoysa, Ruchira Perera and Prasanna Jayawardena.—AFP
