PESHAWAR, Dec 28: The NWFP Bar Council has decided to hold lawyers’ conventions at the divisional level and award medals and certificates to lawyers imprisoned after the imposition of the state of emergency.

A general body meeting of the council held here on Thursday paid tributes to Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other judges who did not take the oath under the PCO.

The meeting decided to continue struggle till the restoration of the deposed judges.It elected Qazi Mohamamd Naeem as council’s vice-chairman and Saeed Akhter as executive committee’s chairman for the next year. Other committees were also constituted.The meeting resolved to continue complete boycott of superior courts and that of subordinate courts for an hour daily. A complete strike would be observed on every Thursday.
