NAB seizes TMA record

SIALKOT, Dec 26: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has seized all records of Pasrur Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) pertaining to development works following alleged corruption complaints and has started investigations.

The tehsil nazim, however, dubbed the action as “political victimisation” and said that it had been taken on the directives of PML-Q provincial leadership because he was supporting his nephew, who is a PPP candidate for PP-126, instead of PML-Q’s candidate for the slot.

The NAB allegedly received complaints of financial irregularities and corruption in TMA’s several development projects on which the action was taken on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pasrur Tehsil Nazim Ch. Maqsood Ahmad told reporters that there were no financial irregularities or any sort of corruption in TMA’s affairs.

He said that he was supporting his nephew, Dr. Tanveer Islam, who is a PPP candidate for PP-126 against PML-Q’s former provincial minister Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi. He accused the PML-Q’s provincial leadership of harassing him through NAB.
