MARDAN, Dec 24: Awami National Party (ANP) president Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the party’s election manifesto has a programme to include the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in the ‘Pukhtunkhwa’ province.
Talking to Dawn here on Monday, he said the manifesto did not address the issue of land reforms because there was no feudalism in the province.
In reply to a question about Balochistan, he said the ANP wanted the entire Pukhtun nation in one province.
He dispelled the impression that the ANP and the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) had reached an understanding for the election.
He said a candidate of the PML-N for NA-1 (Peshawar-I), Mohammad Afzal Khan, had withdrawn his candidature in favour of Ghulam Ahmed Bilour of the ANP.
He said the ANP and the Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement (PONM) had no serious differences over boycott of the coming election but only a democratic process could solve problems.
He said alliances with other parties were possible after the election.
The ANP chief is contesting the election from for National Assembly from Charsadda and Swabi.
