SARGODHA, April 1: The Anjuman Tajran Fruit Market observed a complete strike on Monday to protest against the police failure to nab the killers of three merchants.

Anjuman Tajran’s convener Rao Abdul Manan said in a statement that if all the employees of the Urban Area police station, including the SHO, were not suspended immediately, they would go on strike for indefinite period.

He said that if the culprits were not traced within eight days, the fruit venders and merchants would stage a sit-in in front of the Governor’s House in Lahore.

Rao Abdul Manan said that about one and a half month ago, a fruit merchant from Balochistan, Ayub, was found strangled, about two weeks ago, one Rauf and a couple of days ago Muhammad Sharif Kamboh was found strangled.

He said that three merchants were found strangled and the police were not taking any action.
