KARAK, Dec 18: The Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N have made seat-to-seat adjustments and joined hands at the district level to fight their rivals in the general election.

This was announced by local leaders of the two political parties at a press conference held here on Tuesday. PML-N candidate for National Assembly Shamsur Rehman Khattak and PPP Provincial Assembly (PF-40) candidate Fareed Tofan told newsmen that the two parties would support each other’s candidates, adding that the PML-N would withdraw its candidate for PF-41, Mohammad Raza, in favour of PPP candidate Abdul Jabbar, advocate.

They said the leaders of the two parties reached a consensus after the strategy was approved by the top leadership of the two parties.

They claimed that the seat adjustment policy would prove to be a formidable challenge for candidates of rival parties.

They further claimed that local leaders of the two parties would not just support each other symbolically, but turn the alliance into a reality on Jan 8. Both leaders asked workers of the two parties to join hands and start a door-to-door canvassing for the success of their joint candidates.
