PESHAWAR, Dec 18: Deposed Chief Justice Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Tuesday expressed the hope that the movement of lawyers and civil society would result in restoration of an independent judiciary and genuine democracy in the country.

In a message conveyed through deposed chief justice of the PHC Justice Tariq Pervez Khan, he said he would like to see how long would the government be able to detain him. “One day I will be free and among my people.” He extended Eid greetings to lawyers and civil society.—Bureau
