PESHAWAR, Dec 18: The caretaker Chief Minister of the NWFP, Shamsul Mulk has directed the authorities concerned to immediately start the construction of the buildings of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology.

He gave the orders during his visit to the site of the project in Hayatabad on Tuesday.

The chief minister was of the view that highly reputable companies should be engaged in the construction work.

He said the health department should hire a good consultant for the project because it was the first of its kind in the Frontier province.

He said the health facility should be of a sufficiently high standard. It should not just serve the people of Pakistan but also that of India, Afghanistan and the Central Asian states.

Earlier, the chief minister was given a briefing by Prof Dr Hafeezullah about the departments of the proposed institution, including investigation, OPD and other allied services.
