LAHORE, Dec 15: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry, 18 permanent judges and eight additional judges of the high court took oath under the Constitution at the Governor’s House on Saturday after the lifting of emergency.
Governor Khalid Maqbool administered oath to the chief justice, who then administered oath to other judges.
The permanent judges sworn in under the Constitution are Justice Syed Zahid Husain, Justice Mian Muhammad Najmuz Zaman, Justice Maulvi Anwarul Haq, Justice Nasim Sikandar, Justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha, Justice Muhammad Khalid Alvi, Justice Muzammil Khan, Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam, Justice Shaikh Hakim Ali, Justice M Bilal Khan, Justice Sheikh Javaid Sarfraz, Justice Fazal-i-Miran Chohan, Justice Syed Shabbar Raza Rizvi, Justice Hamid Ali Shah, Justice Syed Sajjad Husain Shah, Justice Tariq Shamim, Justice Syed Asghar Haider and Justice Hasnat Ahmad Khan.
The additional judges are Justice Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Justice Khwaja Farooq Saeed, Justice Saghir Ahmad, Justice Muhammad Akram Qureshi, Justice Zubdatul Hussain, Justice Khurshid Anwar Bhinder, Justice S Ali Hasan Rizvi and Justice Saifur Rahman.—Reporter
