MIRPURKHAS: Flour mills raided

MIRPURKHAS, Dec 13: Mukhtiarkar Mirpurkhas raided chakkis and shops to check hike in wheat flour prices on the directives of DCO. Report said Mukhtiarkar Abdul Sattar Hakro raided chakkis and shops of Hameedpura, Hirabad, Bhansinghabad, Chan-dni Chowk, and Satellite town imposing fine of Rs9,500 with the warning to sell flour at the government fixed rate of Rs16 per kg. Despite raids, flour was being sold for Rs18-20 per kg in the city.

The Chakki Association Mir-purkhas condemned the raids and fines.

It said wheat bag was being sold at Rs1,850 in the open market and added they were receiving 12 bags for one week and which consumes in a day.—BoC
