MITHI, Dec 13: Some PPP leaders of Tharparkar are accusing Arbabs of pre-poll rigging which is far from the truth, said the PML-Q candidate for NA-229, Arbab Zakaullah. In a press statement issued on Thursday, Arbab Zakaullah said by following principles of politics, Arbab group won almost all seats from Thar and served people without discrimination, while the PPP leaders promoted Bhatta culture, nepotism, jobs selling, besides attacking, injuring and torturing journalists of Mithi.

Thar remained fort of power of Arbabs and PPP imported candidates will be defeated by PML-Q candidates in coming elections, claimed Zakaullah.

He asked the election commission to take notice of baseless allegations against Arbabs by the PPP and ensure fair elections.

President PPP Tharparkar, Mahesh Kumar Malani urged the Election Commission to fix polling stations in Thar like in 2002 and appoint presiding officers of gazetted cadre.

Malani accused the Arbab group of getting posted their favourite supervisors as presiding officers at polling stations of NA-229 to rig election. Apart from it, the JSTs of Grade-9 of Taluka Diplo had been posted presiding officers at polling stations in four dehs of taluka Chhachhro, ignoring appointment of HSTs or other gazetted officials.
