KARACHI, Dec 10: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has announced construction of a multi-story rickshaw parking plaza at Patel Para on Business Recorder Road where, he said, rickshaw mechanics would also be given shops on an ownership basis.

Speaking at a reception hosted for him by Pakhtun notables of the area in Patel Para Ground, Jamshed Town, on Friday night, the nazim pledged a family park to be developed, besides regularisation of the katchi abadi, in the locality.

He said the CDGK had earmarked Rs2.5 billion for improving the city’s transport culture, and said that any transporter intending to bring new vehicles in the city would be granted 80 per cent loan, which would be interest-free. “The transporters shou-ld come forward and avail this opportunity,” he exhorted.—PPI
