KARACHI, Dec 10: Four ships scheduled to load/offload containers, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more container ships also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was observed at 80 per cent at the wharves where nine ships, Inori, Brianna, CMA CGM Turkey, Bernice, Zabrjad, Chembulk, Samho Heron, Al-Salam-II and Yanaseni, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 98,017 tons comprising 80,004 tons of import and 18,013 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Inori, Palermo, CMA CGM Turkey, Samho Heron and Zabrjad left the port while Brianna, Chembulk and Al-Salam-II were due to depart.
