KARACHI, Dec 9: A total of 98,183 pilgrims were airlifted to Saudi Arabia by the PIA in its Haj operations commenced on Nov 14, according to a press release.

The national flag carrier has undertaken to airlift 124,050 Haj pilgrims through 336 fights. It has already operated 294 flights — 70 from Karachi, 49 from Islamabad, 53 from Lahore, 77 from Peshawar and 45 from Quetta — and the operation is to continue till Dec 14.

The post-Haj operation will start on Dec 25, 2007 and conclude on Jan 24, 2008.—APP
