TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 8:.Pakistan Muslim League-Q has revised its candidates from two National Assembly constituencies in the district, following rejection of nomination papers of a hopeful and refusal of another to contest the polls.

The party had awarded ticket for NA-92, Gojra, to Chaudhry Amjad Ali Warraich, a former MNA, but his nomination papers were rejected when Shah Abdul Latif Bhatai University, Khairpur (Sindh), declared his BA certificate fake. His opponent, PML-N’s M Hamza, had challenged Warraich’s educational qualification. The ticket has now been allotted to Warraich’s wife Begum Farkhanda.

PML-Q ticket for NA-93, Toba Tek Singh, was awarded to former MNA Mian Farhan Latif but he refused to contest polls due to his business engagements. The party ticket has now been allotted to Mr Latif’s cousin Mian Kashif Ashfaq, son of former district nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-N has also announced tickets for the three remaining provincial assembly seats in the district.

Party’s district president Chaudhry Amjad Ali Javed told newsmen on Saturday that Begum Nazia Raheel Anwar Gujjar would be PML-N candidate for PP-88, Kamalia, following the rejection of nomination papers of Sardar Noman Gujjar, Mrs Anwar’s nephew, who was declared underage by four days. He had filed an appeal before the Lahore High Court election tribunal but it was rejected.

He further said the party also awarded ticket to Usman Cheema, younger brother of Gojra tehsil nazim Asad Zaman Cheema, for PP-84, Nawan Lahore, and to Chaudhry Sajjad Rabbani, son of former MPA Haji Ghulam Rabbani, for PP-85, Gojra.

Pakistan Peoples Party has awarded ticket for NA-92, Gojra, to Chaudhry Khalid Bashir, a bus company owner and son of late MNA Chaudhry Bashir Khan. Earlier, the ticket was issued to advocate Chaudhry Saifullah Cheema.

The party has already fielded former MNA Haji Muhammad Ishaq, a cousin of Chaudhry Khalid Bashir.
