Published December 7, 2007

KARACHI, Dec 6: A dacoit was killed in a shootout with police late on Thursday in Chawkiwara.

Three armed robbers boarded a bus (7-C) and held the driver, conductor and the passengers of the bus hostage at gunpoint and started collecting valuables from them.

“After completing their job they fired shots in the air to create panic among the area people so as to escape,” said a police official.

“A police party reached the spot and found dacoits fleeing the scene,” he said. The culprits opened fire on the police and in return fire a dacoit, Faisal, got killed while the others managed to escape.
