PESHAWAR, Dec 5: The Intel Pakistan Corporation (IPC) will provide information technology training to school and college teachers of the province under the Intel Teach Programme.
A memorandum of understanding in this regard was signed by representatives of Intel and the information technology department at a ceremony held here, said a press release issued by the IPC here on Wednesday. Minister for Information Syed Imtiaz Gilani and Minister for Higher Education Iftikhar Chamkani attended the ceremony
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gilani asked entrepreneurs to come forward and invest in the field of science and technology.
He said information technology and computers were just tools which could be beneficial only if used properly. He said effective usage of machines required change in mindsets of people.
The minister expressed displeasure over the delay in commencement of the ceremony.
He was of the view that resources alone could not ensure development of a nation unless there was a change in the mindsets.
Ashar H. Zaidi, country manager for the IPC, briefed participants about his organisation’s initiative to improve skills of students.
