KARAK, Dec 4: The people of the Banda Daud Shah tehsil have formed a committee to put pressure on the authorities to ensure provision of natural gas to their area.

The committee was formed at a meeting of elders of Banda Daud Shah which was held here on Tuesday.

The meeting resolved that the government had miserably failed in honouring its pledges made to the people of the area for supply of natural gas to the tehsil, and to ensure a fair share of gas royalty to the residents.

The participants of the meeting decided that no compromise would be made with the government on the basic demand of gas supply and to secure the rights of the people.

The meeting participants decided to meet again on Dec 13 to discuss the issue and to decide a future line of action.

The meeting was attended by Tehsil Nazim Hameedullah Khattak, Union Nazims of Terri and Bahaderkhel, Terri Gas Action Committee President Nawabzada Farooq and former provincial health minister Abdul Haleem Khattak.
