LAHORE, Dec 3: The utterances of Benazir Bhutto about a possible take over of Kahuta (country’s premier nuclear facility) by extremists is a bid to please Zionist lobby, alleges former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi.

In a statement here on Monday, he alleged Ms Bhutto had given the statement at the behest of Israel.

He accused her of ‘leading the enemies of Islam and Pakistan to the nuclear facilities of the country’.

He said precisely for such acts, Nawaz Sharif had been terming Ms Bhutto a security risk for the country.

Terming the PPP leader an extremist, the former chief minister said the world knew she herself created Taliban.

He also accused her of playing politics over strategic assets of the country. Even before arriving in the country, she was talking of handing over Dr A Q Khan to the foreign investigators, he added.

The former CM said people would certainly reject such irresponsible politicians in the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the US envoy to Pakistan, Ms NW Patterson, called on Pervaiz Elahi and discussed current political developments in the country.

Later talking to newsmen, Pervaiz Elahi said his party had fielded strong candidates on all seats in the country and would sweep the polls because of unmatched development work carried out by his government.

He insisted that PML-N was talking about poll boycott as a face-saving measure because it had a fair idea of the possible elections results. The party, he said, had neither done its homework nor did development works during its rule. The party leadership wanted to boycott polls, whereas workers were pressing it to go for the contest, he claimed.
