RAWALPINDI, Dec 3: Lawyers and political leaders have condemned extension in detention of three leading lawyers, including Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan.

Former prime minister and Chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto condemned extension in the detention of PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan and demanded for his immediate release. In a statement here on Monday, she also called for the release of the deposed judges, lawyers and other detainees.

The Rawalpindi District Bar Association (DBA) criticised the government for extending the detention of Barrister Aitzaz, Ali Ahmed Kurd and Justice (retd) Tariq Mahmood for another 30 days that was to end on December 2.—A Reporter
