SANGHAR: Policeman shot dead

SANGHAR, Dec 2: Intruders shot dead a police head constable in his house in Malhi Para on Sunday night while he was asleep.

Mazhar Abbas was sleeping in the veranda of his house when the killers sneaked into the house and fired point blank into his head. As a result, he died on the spot.

Mr Abbas was alone in the house when the incident took place. In the morning, his wife came to the house, saw the body and raised alarm.

The police arrived at the scene of the crime and took the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

An FIR has been lodged against unidentified killers. No arrest was made.
