HYDERABAD, Nov 30: The department of Physiology, University of Sindh, organised a free medical camp at Goth Saidnio Mallah, Jamshoro district, on Friday to test blood of general public for hepatitis B and C.

During the one-day camp blood samples of 136 people were collected which included 82 female, 74 male and 07 children.

According to the report issued by Prof. Jaindo Shaikh, the coordinator of medical campus, the blood samples were examined through chip testing and confirmed by Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay method in the department’s cell and tissue culture /molecular biology laboratory.

The findings of tests under random screening showed 32 persons were suffering from hepatitis C virus positive (19.63 per cent) and 7 people from hepatitis B virus positive.
