KARACHI, Nov 30: A large number of animal traders on Friday protested against the imposition of a ‘Eid special tax’ at Malir livestock market and called for its immediate withdrawal.

The demonstration was organised by the Livestock Traders Welfare Association (LTWA). Speaking on the occasion, LTWA president Baloch Khan Lashari said the town administration had imposed the ‘Eid special tax’ and was charging Rs250 and Rs75 for big and small animals respectively from the traders.

He urged the authorities concerned to withdraw the tax at the earliest.—Staff Reporter
